SADS Awareness Conference
Posted: Tue, 03 Sep 2013
UHL doctors and nurses are running a conference on the topic of sudden death in teenagers and young adults, in support of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust. Joe died suddenly last October while out jogging, aged 14 years old.
12 people under the age of 35 die per week in the UK, in similar circumstances. Many of these deaths could be prevented with better awareness amongst healthcare staff, and better CPR skills amongst the public.
The conference will be held on Monday 4th November at the Glenfield Hospital and will attract an audience of doctors, nurses and paramedics from all over the UK. Martin Johnson, ex-rugby international and Patron of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust, will launch the event.
