Nominations now closed for LLYPY Awards 2014

The nominations are now closed for this year's Lord – Lieutenants Young Person of the Year Award 2014. 'Thank you' to all those who took time out to nominate one of the many inspirational young people from across Leicester-shire. Now begins the next stage of the process to find this year's category winners and overall award winner.

The selection of award and prizes:

  • A panel of judges, which will include young people and chaired by the Lord-Lieutenant, will consider all nominations meeting the criteria for the award.
  • The judges will shortlist 3 young people to be nominated for each category of the Award including the young artist of the year ( The Joe Humphries Memorial Award) .
  • The shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend an Awards Evening on Tuesday 8th April 2014 to be hosted by the Lord-Lieutenant. Friends and family will be welcome.
  • The shortlisted nominees will each receive a framed certificate acknowledging their personal achievement together with a prize. Category Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, with each winner receiving a trophy and a prize to the value of £500.
  • The Category Winners will go forward to the culmination of the Awards Evening when the Lord- Lieutenant will announce who isLord-Lieutenant's Young Person of the Year 2014. This outstanding achievement will be marked by the presentation of a special trophy.
