Women's England Development Squad

With the 2014/15 boxing season finished I have had time to look back on the past year with a lot of ups and downs. After last season's success, winning the Diamonds in the ring belt at Liverpool Echo Arena and the Haringey Box Cup, Class B (Europe's Largest International Open Boxing Tournament) it was time to step up to the Elite Class.
My first disappointment came in the Elite National Championships in April where I lost in the semi-finals to a very experienced Stacey Copeland. After this I had some good news as England asked me to represent them in the Three Nations. At the competition in May I won silver by beating Scotland and losing to Wales in finals. After my performances I was asked to attend an England Assessment Camp for three days in Tamworth. Over the three days we did fitness tests, runs and sparing. A week after this assessment camp I again went in to the Haringey Box Cup in June having a point to prove as I won last year. However in the semi-finals after what I thought was a good performance and I did enough to win, in the judges eyes I lost. After another slight disappointment I received the best news I could; a letter from England Boxing saying that they would like me to join the Women's Development Squad. I am waiting on further information regarding this but I am definitely looking forward to things to come next season.
Again I would like to say a huge thank you to JHMT as some of the money I received has been spent on travel and accommodation costs for competitions such as the Haringey Box Cup which competitors must pay for ourselves.
