Busy Busy in Belgium

I am in the thick of the road racing season and it has been going really well. Since my last post I have won a regional race in Witham and have also been travelling to and from Belgium racing. Last weekend I raced a double weekend in a place called Zwevegem and the next day at a town called Waarschoot. We stayed over the bank holiday weekend had time for a recce ride of another race that was coming up. Zwevegem is near Harlebeke. In Harlebeke is the best BBQ shop in Belgium. 2 burgers and a prawn kebab later and my race recovery was well underway. The recce was for a race called Omloop Der Drie Provinces. I was back in the UK for one day of school before it was off again to Belgium for the Omloop. This was an inter-club race that took in some of the great climbs around Oudenaarde. This race was the first time that I had raced up these climbs and the experience was massive. I have a few races coming up in the UK including the Cicle Classic at Melton and then its off to the Netherlands and then down to Spain. I am keeping up with my weight training and I really enjoy it. I have learnt so much about compound movements and its clearly paying off with some great results.
