Grafham Inlands and Rutland GP

Posted: Tue, 04 Dec 2018

2 weeks ago we had the Graham Inland Championships, although the results were disappointing we learnt lots about what we needed to work on for the Rutland GP 2 weeks later. At that weekend we had a delivery of a brand new boat which we hoped would help us achieve the results we know we can reach. The following weekend we ha another Youth Squad Training which really helped us to eradicate the problems we'd had the previous week. This weekend we had the final competition of the year at my home club, Rutland. We were greeted with rain, high winds, and low temperatures but we were not deterred by this as it was our first weekend using the new boat. We launched with a fresh set of eyes for our race tactics and had two very pleasing results followed by a much more disappointing one due to the dying and shifty winds making it difficult sailing. The following day was consistently very windy and after problem son the start we clawed it back to end in a respectable 18th. Looking forward to improving our fitness over christmas ready for the events in the new year along with the physical profiling tests in february.
