Ipswich National Trophy

On to round 5 of the CX National Trophy Series, going into with confidence but a bit of worry after having a close call at York. The course was completely flat, very dry and suited me pretty well with a few twisty turns in the woods to add, I liked the course although it got a bit boring after doing a few laps and felt I had done all I needed to do to practice.
Race day, I was feeling ok about it all and leading with more confidence than nerve, knowing that it was perfect for me and I had a good start off into the season winning all rounds apart from one. I had a pretty good start but for the first time all season I wasn't leading all the way until the first corner, but I knew it was ok because I was on her wheel and wasn't going to let her go. Going up onto a bridge and then turning a corner and then only having a few metres into the hurdles, we were both going a bit too fast for our legs to keep up when we jumped off the bikes to start to run. As the other girl goes into the hurdles in front of me, she trips over the first one and lands on the second, I do exactly the same thing but managed to save it and quickly hop over the second one, I now moved into 1st position and decide to attack whilst I have the chance whilst she was trying to recover and pick up her bike. I gradually make the gap bigger and win the race with a clear run. I now have enough points to win the series and nobody can beat me. No matter where I come at Round 6, I will still take the series leader title. On wards to shrewsbury!
