Keeping motivated through injury.

After a long and difficult winter season where I had to deal with solo training due to lockdown restrictions I made huge progressions and was confident and motivated for the summer season ahead where I was looking forward to racing and proving to myself what I was capable of. However, on the last week of the winter season my shins started to play up and immobilised me from running as every step was painful. Fortunately, I did not let this get me down as I made myself rest and recover as I knew all the hard work I put into the winter was not just for nothing. It has now been around 10-12 weeks since the issues began and it has allowed me to do exercises to strengthen my legs and become more flexible through mobility exercises. This proves that even when injured you can identify and improve previous weaknesses which have held you back. I also stay motivated through the excitement and willingness to get myself back to fitness and my best possible form for the upcoming races and do everything I can to reach my goals.
