Dance competitions and auditioning for Performing Arts colleges

Thanks to JHMT, the dance competition that I competed in earlier this year, gave me the opportunity to compete in solo sections for the second time at the En pointe Festival Dance. I love the whole experience of performing solo on stage. The journey of the anxiety, the adrenaline rush and the feeling of success of finishing the dance all add to my experience. I came 4th with my Musical Theatre performance and really enjoyed performing a modern solo as well. I also enjoy dancing as part of a team, knowing that I am part of the group, dancing in synchronisation with the troupe. The Senior troupes performed It's a musical, which came first, Gatsby came third and we premiered Motown, a dance newly choreographed for our recent dance show.

I have also been focussing on auditioning for Performing Arts Colleges for September, to complete a BTEC level 3 diploma in Music Teacher. I am thrilled to say that I was offered a place at all the colleges that I applied to; Studio 79, ASA and Emil Dale. I have had the difficult decision to weigh up the pros and cons of staying local or boarding in Hertfordshire to be able to attend Emil Dale. I have taken the decision to stay in Leicestershire and attend Studio 79, where I can study whilst also enjoy being able to continue dancing, singing and acting with my friends and spending fun time with my family which I love doing.

I did successfully audition, for a second summer, to attend the 2 week residential British Youth Music Theatre summer production and took the decision to decline the offer and enjoy a summer filled with fun days out with friends and family.

I have got to the end of a long term, and I am ready to enjoy my summer, having completed my GCSE exams, gained grade 6 distinction in singing and I am awaiting results of my grade 6 acting exam and dancing exams.
