I DID IT! ENGLISH NATIONALS HERE I COME!

I worked (and swam!) so hard in the National Window it was a tough time with highs and lows! I was rejected from some races due to oversubscribed swimmers and I was disappointed that I didn't have the chance to get better times. I was so worried I wouldn't qualify.

The toughest weekend was the last weekend of the National Window when I raced in Manchester at the Aquatics Centre commonwealth pool 2002 - it was a hot weekend in May and boy was the hotel hot! My performance was just not up to scratch and I didn't PB at all over the weekend - but the big disappointment for me was the 400 Free my last race - my leg just siezed up and I couldn't give it the push I needed to get a PB. I did finished the race though! I felt so disappointed that I didn't improve my previous time and I knew I would not qualify now for the 400m Free - nothing is certain - you never know what will happen until you swim on race day!

Well I dusted myself off and was back to training at 5am Monday morning! And then it was a waiting game……. Waiting for that official email to come through……. And it did! I am so excited to qualify for both 1500m and 800m Free and I am training hard until I race at Ponds Forge in Sheffield during the Summer Holidays.

A step closer to that dream … Olympic dream! I cannot thank Inspire enough for the support - I look ahead to Tenerife (February 2025) where the training camp will be to help prepare us for the National Qualifying Window - where I will hopefully qualify for Nationals 2025.

Thank you Inspire
