JHMT chair Steve Humphries and Stephen Baum, Trustee, took the Trust's campaign literature and materials to raise awareness of SADS in young people to the Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group meeting held at King Power Stadium. Many of the GPs and the practise staff were keen to find out more about the Trust's Key educational and vital public health work so parents are better informed and prepared to tackle the silent killer SADS and other heart diseases which are responsible for the loss of 12 young people a week in the UK.
Steve Humphries said, 'This was another important milestone for the Trust today in terms of taking our campaign message to the Leicester City medical practitioners. The public need to be more aware of the sudden cardiac arrest risk factors that can affect young people aged between 12 – 35 years old, as highlighted by the Trust since the tragic loss of our beloved son Joe last October."
"SADS can strike anyone, anytime and anywhere without any prior warning. Today was also a real eye opener as to the size of the challenge ahead but the Trust will never stop working to ensure the message is loud and clear'.
