The money was handed to Mountfields Lodge School, in Epinal Way, Loughborough, which has been working with the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust to try and install an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in the school reception area.

LOUGHBOROUGH Students' Union Rag have donated £700 to help a local primary school's bid to fund a defibrillator.

The money was handed to Mountfields Lodge School, in Epinal Way, Loughborough, which has been working with the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust to try and install an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in the school reception area.

A school spokesperson said: "Loughborough Students' Rag have made this dream a lot closer to reality with a huge donation of £700.

"Mountfields has over 500 children and 80 members of staff and at certain times of the day there are up to 400 parents and grandparents also on the school grounds.

"This generous donation could make all the difference to the Mountfields community and could save lives."
