Each week we report on the incidences and devastation of sudden death in young people who are mostly victims of undiagnosed heart conditions #SADS. As a society we
can no longer live in denial because this is a very difficult subject to talk about. This does and can happen to seemingly fit and healthy young people. We owe it each and every child young adult to do everything we possibly to tackle these silent killers. Silence can no longer reign supreme. These devastating deaths can be prevented with greater awareness of the key signs and symptoms, and even in cases where no sign or symptom is presented (as in the case of our wonderful son Joe), effective CPR and prompt defibrillation will save lives. As stated on numerous occasions by our patron, Martin Johnson: ' if you don't have the information you can't make a choice'. The work of the Trust is all about giving parents a choice and say in these health matters which we and many other families and communities have been so cruelly denied. So the work goes on in schools, communities and in sports clubs, events and facilities to create a safer environment for everyone across Leicester and Leicestershire.

Everyone young and old can play a part in helping Joe’s Trust – www.jhmt.org.uk end this heartbreak which causes untold, life long suffering for those left behind.
