Young Ciara Gallagher, 14 years old, is currently on a mission to take part in a four-week expedition to Ecuador in 2016. During the expedition Ciara will take part in a number of projects to help raise the standards of education and living in developing communities. This will also involve helping out with ongoing wildlife conservation programmes to preserve and protect vulnerable habitats of animals and wildlife.

Ciara said: ' At present I am fundraising for the trip which will cost £4000. I have so far done numerous cake sales, car boots with more activities planned for the year ahead. I have already raised £500 so far. This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as an understanding of people who are less fortunate than me. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and benefit the wider community around the world'.

Simon Taylor, Inspire Project lead said: Ciara is another example of a young person whose inspirational efforts we are happy to support through our small grants scheme .We are totally committed to enabling young people fulfil their potential be it in the fields of the arts , community , business or sport. Unfortunately Joe Humphries did not have the opportunity to fulfil his potential but through the awards his spirit is enabling other young people to fulfil theirs. We would encourage others like Ciara to apply by going to http://jhmt.org.uk/inspire-awards/apply
