Biography
My name is Kerry and I am a budding designer maker currently studying Design Crafts at DMU. I specialise in Metal and Jewellery and this year I am creating a collection based on architecture and floor plans. With the help from the JHMT inspire award, I can create my pieces from sterling silver and buy materials to create the best collection possible, which will be on display at the LCB Depot in central Leicester later this year. This amazing opportunity will also give me the boost to get my work out there as the pieces will be for sale, and I plan to donate a percentage of each sale back to the charity. The financial help when starting out as a small independent maker truly makes all the difference, as it means that my first official gallery exhibition will consist of a high quality collection that will be hopefully be the start of a brand for my jewellery and other work in the future.
Simon Taylor, Inspire Lead, said; " We are delighted to make the award .Kelly is a real talent and we have no doubt that she will be a success and a great example to other young people with a passion."
