Biography
Laura is 19 year's old and from Sileby, Leicestershire and is one of a number of talented Special Olympics GB athletes from Leicestershire who will be representing the East Midlands in the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games 2017 for people with intellectual disabilities being held in Sheffield in between 7 - 12 August 2017.

She has competed previously in two Special Olympics Summer Games as a gymnast including the games in Leicester 2009. The time round Laura who has a learning disability and autism will be competing this time as a swimmer.
One of the biggest barriers to overcome for Special Olympics GB athletes is raising the required funds, £300 entry fee per athlete, to attended this prestigious national event which is held every four years. There also the additional costs of attending training and competitions held across the UK.
Laura's sister Lucy is the talented Deaflympics swimmer who is representing GB the Deaflympics Games in Turkey between 18-30 July 2017. Lucy has also been
