Biography
I am a 14-year old triathlete competing locally and nationally.
I have been swimming for as long as I can remember. My favourite strokes are butterfly and long-distance front crawl and through swimming I discovered a particular affinity to open water swimming which started when the pools were closed during the Covid 19 pandemic. I was so happy to be outside and swimming again!
I joined Wreake and Soar Valley at a young age after taking part in cross country races at school. Thanks to the help of the club I am currently 4th in the UK for 3000m, county champion for under 15 1500m and cross country. I am a midlands champion for cross country and have been part of relay teams winning medals nationally in the road and cross country relays. I love the buzz and excitement of an event and have particularly enjoyed challenging myself against the best runners in national events.
Through my love of running I started taking part in triathlons when I was 8. I have won the East Midlands TS3 series this year and I have successfully gained a place on the Midlands Academy. I have been working hard on my cycling to help my triathlon and I have been taking part in hill, crit and cyclo-cross races. I spend a lot of time training in Derbyshire to help my endurance and during this time have found that I can get up a hill quickly! I have come top 3 in many hill races and I am competing in the National Hill Series in November.
In 2025 I will be applying to the Super Series Triathlon National Series which I am working hard for, training over 15 hours a week and balancing school commitments. I would like to continue to complete in national, and hopefully international events next year.
I am so grateful to the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust and CF Construction for the Inspire award which has awarded me a grant so I can buy a cycle computer to help me develop my cycling further and be more independent. They have given me the opportunity to go on a cycle specific training camp in Derbyshire with the Midlands Academy to which I am able to access specialist triathlon coaching. Thank you for your support!
