Biography

Hi, My name is Seamas Hurst and I am a 18 year old from Rothley, Leicestershire. I am currently at Rawlins sixth form studying 3 A levels which are Business, Economics and Pe. On top of my studying most of my time is taken up by my training which I do 6 times a week, 3 of which are sessions usually on the track at Loughborough University, on grass at the University or at Bradgate Park. On top of this, 3 other days are runs and a long run. I train/compete for Charnwood A.C and so I am blessed with the facilities provided but also my coaches Alison Wyeth and Paul Bradshaw. My preferred distance is 800m and my current Pb is 1.56 which I hope to get down to 1.52 or quicker this season. I was at English schools and Nationals for both track and cross country where I failed to run at my best and so has made me eager and hungry to achieve my goals this season in training and racing as I have progressed to an U20. I will hopefully continue to run and compete at Leeds Beckett University next year and I am very excited to see what my future running career has in store and how close I can get to achieving my goals which have been made easier through JHMT. I have been very privileged to have been awarded with this grant and I am extremely thankful and grateful for the support.
